The Mountain Cuvée is the house's more accessible bottling: a Bordeaux blend drawn from estate vines, built for pleasure now rather than a decade in the cellar.

The 2021 growing season began with one of the driest winters on record, followed by a mild, even summer with no adverse heat events. Drought conditions limited canopy growth and produced small, concentrated berries — and ultimately wines with excellent acidity and structure. The blend is 54% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Petit Verdot, 14% Merlot, 12% Malbec, and 5% Cabernet Franc, bottled at 14.7% ABV.

< style="margin: 0;">

PAIRINGS :

Well-marbled ribeye

supple tannins and dark fruit hold up to the char and fat

Braised short ribs

the wine's concentration and barrel spice echo the braising liquid

Rack of lamb with herbs

mountain Bordeaux tannins cut the fat; herbs pick up the wine's savory notes

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0748/4561/8405/files/chappellet-mountain-cuvee-napa-valley-2021-750ml_1.jpg?v=1791818814
